Pat Ehlert, 77, of Marion, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, with his family by his side. Private family services are planned.
Left to cherish Pat's memory are his wife of 56 years, Kay; three children, Missy (John) Scardina of Batavia, Ill., Mike Ehlert of Marion and Mick (Lisa) Ehlert of Omaha, Neb.; nine grandchildren; and a brother, Bob Ehlert.
Pat was born in Audubon, Iowa, on March 17, 1941, to Pete and Phyllis Ehlert. Pat graduated from Audubon High School and attended the University of Iowa. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University. Pat worked at Alliant Energy as an accountant, and upon retirement from there, he worked in the finance department at Smulekoff's. He was an avid Hawkeye fan, loved talk radio and enjoyed being outside. More than anything else, his family was the most important thing in his life.
The family extends a special thanks to St. Luke's Hospital surgical intensive care and hospice teams.
