Jane Ellen Smith, 60, of West Lafayette, IN, died peacefully at home on May 4, 2024, following a three-year battle with glioblastoma. A Catholic mass will be held in Jane’s honor at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 16, at St. John the Evangelist Church in Lawrence, KS. On Saturday, May 18, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, IA, a visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 am, followed by a burial service at 11:00 am with a reception following.
She is survived by her partner, Susan Wegener of West Lafayette, children Katie Smith (Peter Lesslie) of Chicago, Maryanne Smith (Graham Jaenicke) of Atlanta, and Mark Smith of Denver. Jane is also survived by her parents, Dan and Karen Trimble, sisters Beth (Jonathan) Blunt and Deb (Jay) Cassill, former husband Randy Smith, and many friends and colleagues.
