Keith Eugene Brown, 87, of Clarence, passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at his home. Per Keith's wishes, there will not be a funeral. His body was cremated, and the immediate family will be gathering for a private memorial at a later date.
Keith was born Aug. 12, 1931, to Thurman A. and Gladys V. (Sampson) Brown in Ringsted, Iowa. He married Sarah Hansen on June 26, 1954, in Olin.
Keith served his country in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 9664 and American Legion Post 0734 in Camanche. For several years prior to his death, Keith wintered in Mission, Texas, where he made many great friends and fond memories. Summers were spent on his son's farm near Clarence.
He is survived by his son, Dennis (Mary) of Clarence; granddaughters, Tracy (Ben) Freese, Kristen (Bo) Eaton and Sarah Brown; grandsons, Jesse (Ann) Clark and Dustin Clark; and great-grandchildren, Olin, Scarlet and Briggs Freese, Julia Eaton and Hannah and Peyton Clark.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sarah (Sally); son, Kim; brothers, Duane and Don; and sister, Shirley Bihrer.
The family would like to give special thanks to the compassionate, caring staff at Davita Dialysis on Fourth Avenue in Cedar Rapids. With their kindness and knowledge, they kept him in our lives for the past 18 months.
