Stewart “Roger” Greene, 83, died April 28, 2024, with his family at his side after a three-year battle with cancer. Services will be held Monday, May 6, 2024, 11:00 am at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am at the Chapel. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was born July 30, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Raymond U. Greene and LolaBelle Stewart Greene. He attended McKinley High School, was drafted and spent 8 years in the Army. He retired from Hy-Vee in 2012.
He is survived by daughters Bonnie Daws and Wendie Medina, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Brothers: Farl and Ron, Sisters: Pat, Susan, Becky and Pam. Special nephews: Farl, Ryan and Trevin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
He spent many days fishing all his life. He enjoyed puzzles, word games, long walks and reading his bible. He was a quiet, humble man who worked hard and never met a stranger. He lived by the Golden Rule and had a strong relationship with God. He will be greatly missed.
