ARLENE A. SPELLERBERG
Delhi
Arlene A. Spellerberg, 89, formerly of Delhi, passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2018. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, at St. John Catholic Church, Delhi, with a 7 p.m. Scripture service. Additional visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass on Tuesday at the church. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the church conducted by the Rev. John Kremer. Graveside service: 1:30 p.m. St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Earlville.
Arlene was born Sept. 2, 1928, in Dyersville, Iowa, the daughter of George and Agatha (Krapfl) Bockenstedt. On April 17, 1958, Arlene married Clarence Spellerberg at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Delhi. Arlene enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Gary (Vicki) Spellerberg, Lisa (Steve) Dircks, Lynn (Bob) Gilson and Eric Spellerberg, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Spellerberg; son, Brian Spellerberg; great-granddaughter, Drue Spellerberg; parents, George and Agatha Bockenstedt; siblings, Louise Mary Bockenstedt, Edward Francis Bockenstedt and Arvin Henry Bockenstedt; and nephew, Steven Clemens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John Catholic Church.
