Timothy Michael Gaffey was born July 13, 1960, in Illinois, the son of Thomas Francis and Irene (Horwath) Gaffey. The family moved from Libertyville, IL to Holbrook, IA where Tom was raised. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Holbrook where he took First Communion and was Confirmed. He attended Parnell and Williamsburg Schools. Tim worked on the family farm and later at Holden’s Foundation Seeds in Williamsburg for 10 years. He enjoyed going to Tractor Pulls, playing Rolle Bolle and spending time with friends and family. He had a quick wit and was quite the joker. He also had an incredible memory for dates and details. Tim was a kind soul; he never met a person that did not become his friend. Tim died at his home in Belle Plaine on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the age of 63 years.
He is survived by his sister, Karen (fiancé Kirk Hochstetler) Gaffey of Williamsburg; a niece, Kiera Gaffey of North Liberty and numerus uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. There will be a prayer service at 4:30 pm on Wednesday.
