Pedestrian struck, killed by semi on Highway 13 in Marion
The crash happened shortly before 3 a.m. Friday

MARION — A man died early Friday morning after being struck by a semi tractor trailer in Marion.
At 2:54 a.m., Marion Police, Fire Rescue and Area Ambulance were called to Iowa Highway 13, near Linn Aire Avenue, for a crash involving a semi tractor trailer and a pedestrian, according to a news release from the Marion Police Department.
The adult male who had been struck was tended to, and “life saving measures” were administered, but the pedestrian did not survive, the release states.
The driver of the semi tractor trailer did not require medical attention.
The name of the pedestrian has not been released, pending family notification, the release states.
The collision remains under investigation.
