John Vincent Fay
Anamosa
John Vincent Fay of Anamosa passed away of natural causes on April 8, 2024, at his home. He was 68.
Son of June Fay (Sweat) and Robert Edward Fay, John was born August 8, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a star wrestler at Kennedy High School before graduating in 1973. Throughout his life John savored his Irish heritage. He pursued organic farming (with draft horses!) and developed exceptional carpentry and woodworking skills. He enjoyed nature, writing and playing music, good food, drinks with friends, and the good Lord who made it all possible.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and his brothers Daniel J. Fay and Michael W. Fay.
He is survived by his ex-wife and mother of his children, Linda Tharp (Lam); their children: Marie Clark of Golden, CO and husband Graham; Benjamin Fay of Golden, CO and wife Sarah; Moza Fay of Castle Rock, CO and wife Lauren; and Emily Fay of Davenport, IA and fiancé Grant; as well as his brother, Timothy Fay of Anamosa, several nieces and nephews, and nine grandchildren.
His Celebration of Life will be Memorial Day, May 27, from 1-4 pm at the Stone City General Store. All who knew him are welcome. Please visit Goettschonline.com to share your thoughts, memories, and condolences with John’s family.
