Stanley Rabik, 97, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, April 7, 2024. A visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the funeral home. Entombment at Czech National Cemetery in Cedar Rapids will take place at a later date.
Stanley was born April 16, 1926, in Center Point, Iowa, the son of Wesley and Frances (Kalista) Rabik. He was united in marriage to Freda Iris Tomkins on March 10, 1946, in Cedar Rapids. Stanley dedicated 39 years of service to the City of Cedar Rapids before his retirement at age 62. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling.
Survivors include his children, Larry Rabik, Barb (Bob) Reeve, Janet (Phil) Hughes, and Julie Gerace; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Pati Rabik.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Rabik; mother, Frances Rabik; wife of 76 years, Freda Rabik; son, Jerry Rabik; grandchildren, Angie McVay and Jerry Lee Rabik II; brother, Wes Rabik; and daughter-in-law, Peggy Rabik.
