Iowa’s Caitlin Clark got a lot of love on Saturday Night Live last night
SNL’s opening sketch compared the men’s NCAA basketball tournament to the women’s, and let’s just say Caitlin Clark and the women fared far better

How long did it take Caitlin Clark’s name to get mentioned on Saturday Night Live last night?
One minute.
It was a takeoff of CBS’ studio show for the NCAA men’s basketball tournament with Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley, and it was the show’s cold open.
The premise of the sketch was that the men’s tourney is boring, especially compared to the women’s tournament. The response from the audience is telling.
“Did you see that shot she (Clark) made in the South Carolina-Connecticut game?” Smith (played by Devon Walker) asked.
“Uh, she doesn’t play for either of those teams,” said Johnson (James Austin Johnson).
“Yeah, I know,” said Smith. “She shot that from a different arena.”
Barkley (Kenan Thompson) adds his own story about getting dunked on by Clark while shooting a Subway commercial.
Then, who should make an appearance but LSU Coach Kim Mulkey (Heidi Gardner).
“The women’s is turning up the stars,” Barkley said. “Caitlin Clark is doing ads for State Farm, Subway, XFinity and Nike. I’m only doing ads for three of those companies.”
