John Ray Glazier
John Ray Glazier
Toddville
John Glazier of Toddville, Iowa, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born in Estherville, Iowa, John spent much of his childhood near Graettinger, where his grandparents owned a local café. Some of his fondest memories were in the café and surrounding small communities. Those small-town roots helped forge his strong work ethic and desire to lend a hand wherever he could.
After high school, John spent two years in junior college before joining the Air Force where he dedicated 8 years of service. During that time he met and married Kelley Glazier, his wife of 50 years. Together they spent three years in Japan, where their children, Jeremy and Jody, were born.
After leaving the Air Force, they returned to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where John worked for 24 years at Square D and 10 years at Collins before retiring. He enjoyed ham radio, tending to his two-acre property, and time with his family, which includes seven grandchildren.
