Wayne A. King, 59, of Walker, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, at his daughter's home. Funeral services: 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, Iowa. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial: Walker Cemetery, Walker, Iowa.
Wayne was born Oct. 4, 1958, the son of Franklin and Iva Jean (Barnes) King. He graduated from North Linn High School and also received his degree from Kirkwood Community College for small engine repair. Wayne was a truck driver for McLaughlin Freight Services. He was a member of the Walker United Methodist Church. Wayne loved horses, fishing, playing pool, socializing with friends and spending time with his grandkids.
Survivors include his daughters, Malinda King and Ashley (David) King Wickman; siblings, Susan (Kevin) Skolos and Thomas (Rose) King; six grandchildren; nephew, Bruce King; and niece, Stephanie King.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin King and Ivan Jean King; and infant sister, Mary Jane King.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
A memorial ride will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, in Wayne's honor in Independence, Iowa.
