Kathleen (Frasher) Crouse, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully at Linn Manor Care Center, Marion, with her longtime friends Gene and Linnea Hassman at her side. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Anamosa with the Rev. Nick March officiating.
Kathleen was born Dec. 11, 1931, in Stone City, Iowa, the daughter of William and Lucy (Minnis) Frasher. She moved to Marion when she was in grade school at the age of 7. Kathleen attended Marion High School with the Class of 1950. In 1950, she married Dave Hampton and worked for Collins Radio for one year before they moved to Pasadena, Calif. They later divorced in 1978. In her career, Kathleen did inspections for NASA, Litton Data Systems, Telledyne and Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids for five years. On Dec. 31, 1979, in Simi Valley, Calif., Kathleen was united in marriage to Charles Crouse. They returned to the Cedar Rapids/Marion area. She and Chuck managed Indian Creek Apartments for a total of nine years, starting in 1985. Chuck passed away on May 21, 2001. Katie remained as a resident at the apartment building until her recent illness.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Lou Peterson of Cedar Rapids; brother, David (Irene) Frasher of Marion; sister-in-law, Sandy Frasher of Marion; and many nieces and nephews, especially Chris Yuva of Dublin, Ohio, Mike Little of Marion and Mary Jo Adams of Marion.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; and siblings, Edward and William Frasher Jr., Mary Little and James, Richard, Robert and John Frasher.
