Earl Dean "Putts" Kimm, 90, Huntsville, Arkansas, passed peacefully at home with family by his side on March 08, 2024. Earl was born on April 17, 1933 to Porter J. and Esther E. (Schaffer) Kimm in Blairstown, Iowa.
“Putts” was mechanically inclined, and well known for his ability to repair and operate big equipment. A dedicated member of the fire and rescue team, he found fulfillment in lending a hand to those in need. Earl was very proud to serve his country in The U.S. Army as a transportation specialist and was a member of the American Legion. He also loved to tease and to be a recipient of the same.
Earl was preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife, Jane (Riley) Thompson; one daughter, Sara Jayne Kimm; one grandson, Justin Farrar; one stepdaughter, Heidi (McFarland) Kelley; plus many other family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tracy E. Wininger, and Pamela A. and Tim Schram; four grandsons, one granddaughter, and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Blondie (Kimm) Wichmann; and one brother, Franny Kimm; as well as many nieces; nephews, family and friends.
Memorial services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Fayetteville National Cemetery with Kelly Lindsay officiating. Services are entrusted to
Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
