Sharon K. Bemer Harris, 76, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, June 24, 2018, in La Crosse, Wis.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Robert L. Harris; children, Boyd Owens, Hammond, Wis., Kim Musil, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Brian Owens, Lynxville, Wis.; brother, Robert Bemer, Cedar Rapids; and sister, Patricia Matson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis R. and Almyra I. Bemer; brother, Albert
Bemer; and sisters, Myra Rowray and Shirley Mittan.
Sharon was born Sept. 6, 1941, in Covington, Iowa, to parents Louis R. and Almyra I. Bemer. Sharon graduated from Palo High School in 1958. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper before graduating from Coe College in 1981 with a teaching degree. She taught in the states of Iowa and Wisconsin. Sharon also was a tour guide for many years at the Villa Louis Victorian Mansion in Prairie du Chien, Wis. She enjoyed spending time with family and the grandkids, fishing and the river life in northern Iowa and southern Wisconsin, history and reading, and was a Civil War re-enacting hobbyist. Sharon married Robert (Bob) Harris in August of 1981, of which they shared 37 wonderful years together. The family will be hosting a celebration of life for Sharon at a later date.
