CEDAR RAPIDS — Dubuque Bank & Trust closed its banking center in downtown Cedar Rapids this month, adding to recent closures of banking operations in the center of the city.
The banking center was at 320 Third St. SE. Future plans for the office space are unknown at this time, Regional Marketing Officer Steve Ebner said in a statement. The Cedar Rapids branch opened in February 2022 and closed March 7.
“The difficult closure decision was made as part of our efforts to focus our resources on the locations and services that will enable us to better serve our customers,” Ebner said.
Ebner said there was “a handful of employees impacted by the closure,” and the company is working to find other jobs at the bank for some of them.
The bank continues to operate banking centers in the Dubuque and Des Moines markets.
In the Cedar Rapids area, Ebner said business and personal customers can continue to use the company’s online and mobile banking services, remote deposit capture, telephone banking and a Customer Care Center. Customers also may visit one of the other Dubuque Bank & Trust banking centers listed at dubuquebank.com/.
The closure comes in the same month the Wells Fargo’s banking branch closed at 150 First Ave. NE. The Wells Fargo Advisors office on the building’s second floor remains open.
Wells Fargo’s other local offices — at 3570 First Ave. NE, 500 33rd Ave. SW, 3010 Williams Blvd. SW, and 4051 42nd St. NE — remain open for business. Wells Fargo also maintains a Marion office at 340 Seventh Ave.
