RONALD GENE MEYERS Cedar Rapids Ronald Gene Meyers, "Grandpa Cub," 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018, in Gulfport, Miss. Services: 2 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, where a visitation will begin at noon. Burial: Fairfax Cemetery. Survivors include his children, Kim (Mike) Entringer of Cedar Rapids, Ron (Karen) Meyers of Gulfport, Robyn Meyers of Cedar Rapids, Jim Meyers of Gulfport, Jeff Meyers of Cedar Rapids, Steve (Tami) Meyers of Marion and Julie Meyers of Cedar Rapids; his 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and his two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Beverly. Ronald was born Dec. 28, 1932, in Sabula, Iowa, the son of Leonard and Alma (Krahling) Meyers. He married Beverly Tow on Oct. 29, 1955, in Fairfax. Ronald was employed with ADM in Cedar Rapids and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He was a die-hard Cubs fan, enjoyed golf and was a mall walker. Ronald served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
