Jersey Mike’s locations return with charity month

CEDAR RAPIDS — March isn’t just for March Madness or Pulled Pork Madness brackets — it’s for charity, too.

This month, four local charities are partnering with five Jersey Mike’s Subs locations across the Corridor for the 14th annual Month of Giving campaign. During the month, customers can round up their total to the nearest dollar or donate a little extra to support each cause:

The campaign will culminate in a Day of Giving on March 27, when restaurants will donate 100 percent of the day’s gross sales (not just the profit) to the nonprofits as part of a nationwide effort with Jersey Mike’s franchisees across the country.

The sub shop hopes to exceed last year’s record-breaking total of $21 million. Since the annual event started in 2011, Jersey Mike’s has raised more than $88 million for local charities across 3,000 locations.
