Kathleen Rae (Anderson) Evans, 73 of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation prior at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place following services at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Kathy was born on August 26, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Ronald and Joan (Roam) Anderson. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1968. She was united in marriage to John E Williams in 1968 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and had one child, Traci Williams. She remarried to Erwin (Ernie) E. Evans on May 6, 1989, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and became a blended family.
She started at Rockwell Collins in 1968, retiring in 2006 after 38 years as an assembly operator.
Kathy was a fun-hearted loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a world traveler, traveling throughout the world with her parents who owned Social and Travel, and most enjoyed her trip with her husband Ernie to Iceland. She read a wide variety of books. She was very knowledgeable about the Chicago mob history. She most enjoyed reading about the kings and queens of different eras and researching genealogy. She took great pride in creating many Swedish weave blankets which she shared with many families and friends. Kathy and Ernie baked Klutchen cookies that they sent to family and friends at Christmas for many years. She loved animals and held a special place in her heart for her cats.
She will be missed by all who know her.
Survivors include her Husband, Erwin Evans; Sister Carolyn (Anderson) Seeliger; Daughter Traci Williams (Kathy); Stepchildren Charlotte (Andy) Schuchart, Patrick (Jennifer) Evans and Kathleen (Joshua) Molitor; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Joan (Roam) Anderson; and brother-in-law David Seeliger.
