Molly Davis could return for the NCAA women’s basketball tournament
A starting guard for Iowa, she is likely out for the Big Ten tournament, then is expected ‘to undergo physical therapy next week to improve mobility for postseason play’

IOWA CITY — Don’t count Molly Davis out yet.
In an announcement by the University of Iowa released late Monday afternoon, Davis is expected “to undergo physical therapy next week to improve mobility for postseason play.”
Davis suffered an injury to her right knee in the Hawkeyes’ win over Ohio State on Sunday.
“While we feel for Molly that she got injured during Senior Day, we are so thankful that the injury she sustained is not season-ending,” Bluder said.
“Our program has appreciated everyone’s support and prayers as we look forward to her return at some point during the postseason.”
With that said, it sounds as if Davis is doubtful, if not out, for the Big Ten tournament this week at Minneapolis. The 2-seed Hawkeyes (26-4) face either 7-seed Penn State or 10-seed Wisconsin in the quarterfinals at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
The semifinals are Saturday; the championship is Sunday.
Then, the Hawkeyes have a week off before Selection Sunday, and a few more days before the NCAA tournament, in which they are a sure bet to host first- and second-round games.
Davis has started 26 games this season, and is averaging 6.1 points and 3.1 assists per game. Her temporary absence probably would vault Sydney Affolter into the starting lineup, and increase minutes for Kylie Feuerbach and perhaps Taylor McCabe.
