Evelyn E. Novak, 94, of Amana, died Sunday, March 18, 2018, in Mercy Hallmar, Cedar Rapids. Memorial services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, where a visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Chaplain Mike Patterson will officiate.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon (Ed) Veit of Amana, Iowa; stepsons, Maury (Elaine) Novak of Lorraine, Ohio, and Craig Novak of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her brother, Robert Schwab of Belle Plaine, Iowa; her grandchildren, Susan (Brad) Huff of Solon, Iowa, and Joseph (Kelly) Veit of Omaha, Neb.; stepgrandchildren, Taleah, Mallorie, Laura, Pam and Jeff; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Wayne and Charles Schwab.
Evelyn was born Nov. 27, 1923, in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Alvena (Schluntz) Schwab. She married Emil L. Novak on Dec. 12, 1959, in Cedar Rapids. Evelyn was employed with FMC in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed reading books and doing crossword puzzles.
