Judith “Judy” Rice, 80, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Evergreen Estates. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Celebration of Life services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Brosh Chapel. Burial will be in Rogers Grove Cemetery, Ely.
Judith was born November 3, 1943, in Kentucky, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Vogel) Blankenship. Judy was united in marriage to Jim Rice on August 18, 1976, in Rock Island, Illinois. She worked at Holiday Inn, Heritage Acres Nursing Home, as well as was in-home daycare provider. Judy enjoyed going to garage sales, and most of all spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her daughter Chris (Blake) Acord; her son Daniel (Rose) Brown; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Becky, and her siblings.
