Collins Aerospace, the largest employer in Cedar Rapids, announced five international agreements during the Singapore Airshow in February.
The agreements are in:
Philippines: Collins will provided Philippine Airlines with a message platform, an operations management system and a data management and analysis platform.
India: Collins has opened the India Digital Technology Center in Bengaluru that will pursue innovative digital applications around the world. It will specialize in resource planning, artificial intelligence and machine learning, data engineering and analytics.
India: Air India selected Collins Aerospace to provide a full suite of avionics hardware to the airline’s expanding Boeing 737 MAX fleet. The package includes communication, navigation, surveillance equipment and air data sensors, designed to enhance safety, fuel efficiency and operational performance.
China: HNA Aviation Group selected the Collins MRO facility in Tianjim, China, to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services to its subsidiaries, including Beijing Capital Airlines, Tianjim Airlines, West Air, Lucky Air and Guangxi Beibu Gulf Airlines.
Malaysia: Malaysia Airlines Berhad signed an avionics hardware and support agreement with Collins for its fleet of 737-8 narrow-body aircraft. Included are communications, navigation, surveillance and air data systems.
In addition, Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, announced in Singapore that it is adding a Flight Profile Optimization to its FlightHub system.
The addition speeds up data and provides real-time route recommendations to pilots throughout a flight, offering alternative routes to improve fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions. Collins launched FlightHub, which can be integrated into current airline systems, last year.
