Scott A. Sanders passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 at Baywood Banner Hospital in Mesa, Arizona. A celebration of life will be held from 4 to 8 pm on June 12, 2024 at Red Cedar Lodge at Wanatee Park in Marion. This would have been Scott’s 90th birthday. A private inurnment will be held at Campbell Cemetery.
Scott was born in Cedar Rapids on June 12, 1934, the son of Frank E. Sanders and Hazel (Veley) Sanders. He graduated from McKinley High School. While a senior in high school, Scott started working for Lefebure Corp. After 43 years with Lefebure he retired. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 2 years. Scott was united in marriage to Kathryn Trimble on May 11, 1956.
Survivors include his wife and children, Steve (Kate), Mike (Sheryl) and Jeff (Donna); grandchildren, Jennifer, Winston, Cori, Jesse, Molly, and Colin. Also surviving are 8 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter; and his brother, Jim.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Margaret; his brothers, Ed and Ralph; and grandson, Ben.
