MARLENE KAY (DIEKHUIS) WILLEY

Marlene Kay (Diekhuis) Willey, 67, passed away on June 19, 2018, after a lengthy illness.
Marlene was born Jan. 27, 1951, to Marvin and Phyllis Diekhuis. She was raised in Garner, Iowa, and graduated from Garner Hayfield in 1969.
She was married in 1969 and has four children. She divorced and later married Dennis Willey and added 2 stepsons.
Marlene was a stay-at-home mom and wife. She enjoyed running an in-home daycare, camping, playing cards and bingo, and spending cuddle time with her dog, Candy.
Marlene is survived by her husband, Dennis Willey, (Cedar Rapids); her children, Angie Maiers (Cedar Rapids), Michael Riechmann (Sumner), Michele (Jon) Formanek (Cedar Rapids), Amy (Matt) Kunkle (Marion), Matt Willey, (Cedar Rapids) and Greg (LaWanda) Willey (Cedar Rapids); nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Craig (Donna) Diekhuis and Jim (Jeanine) Diekhuis (Garner); and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Phyllis Diekhuis; and her brother, Michael Diekhuis.
Marlene was cremated per her wishes. There will be
a visitation on Saturday, June 30, at First Lutheran Church beginning at 11 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
