Alexis “Lexi” Jae Gonzalez, 25, of Atkins, passed away on February 26, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Alexis was born November 7, 1998, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Jeffrey and Jennifer (Hall) Gonzalez. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School, and later earned a degree in Cosmetology at Capri College. Lexi was currently employed at Cost Cutters in Marion. She enjoyed the outdoors, visiting zoos and aquariums, being with her friends and family, especially her “grandma” Stoneman.
Lexi is survived by her fiancé Maxwell Keys; mother Jennifer Gonzalez; father Jeffrey Gonzalez; her brothers Jobe and Mathias Gonzalez; sister-in-law Megan Keys and her daughter Charlie Lown; her grandparents; as well as her aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents Maurice and Marcia Stoneman, Mervin and Catherine Hall, Marvin and Grace Hinrichs, and her grandparents Agustin and Janice Gonzalez.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
