AEA bill is about control

It seems like the governor whined to the Senate about her AEA overhaul proposal when the House declined to move it forward. Her rationale for the overhaul was to improve low test scores for students receiving special education services. The bill now taken up by her Senate has nothing to do with improving outcomes for students. It's about the other services the AEAs provide: media, professional development, etc., which benefits districts, teachers and all students. Reynolds wants the AEAs under her thumb. The governor, House and Senate should stop saying they are doing this to improve special ed student outcomes since it is really just about the money and control.
