Kathleen Josephine “Katie” Otting, 84, of Earlville, Iowa, died peacefully on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. She was born on February 22, 1940, in Seneca, Kansas, the daughter of Aloysius “Ollie” and Marie (Weber) Otting. Katie was raised and educated at St. Joseph Catholic School in Earlville.
Katie worked as a CNA for almost 40 years at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester, retiring in 2006. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the choir. After her retirement, Katie enjoyed volunteering at the Good Neighbor Home. She made many children’s quilts over the years for friends and family.
Kathleen is survived by her brother, Aloysius (Mary Catherine) Otting of Earlville; nieces and nephew, Mary Lynne Otting of Chicago, Julie (James) Saunders of Cedar Rapids, Alan (Patti) Otting of Earlville, Lisa (David) Ball of Hudson, Amy (Timothy) Beermann of Colorado Springs, and Sarah Otting of Dubuque; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Josie Saunders of Des Moines, Janey (Sam Fowler) Saunders of Marion, Emily, Benjamin and Abigail Beermann of Colorado Springs, and Kayla, Nicholas and Nathan Otting of Earlville.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Antonette “Nettie” Otting.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earlville, Iowa.
Family will greet friends: 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass, Saturday, March 2, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earlville, Iowa, and again in the church basement after the inurnment.
