Suzanne Campbell, 91, of Marion, Iowa, passed away from cancer on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, where family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Suzanne was born on September 10, 1932, in Saverne, France, the daughter of Joseph and Madeliene (Kolb) Klotz. She worked in hospitality all her life, Country Café, Sears-Deli, Hy-Vee Deli, Bishops, K-Mart-Deli, Von-Maur housekeeping and gift wrapping, and the Linn-Mar School District kitchen. On July 16, 1966, Suzanne was united in marriage to Kenneth Campbell in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She loved to shop and go to the casino and play slot machines. Suzanne loved watching Hallmark movies, game shows, Western movies, and Elvis. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Suzanne will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Suzanne is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Danielle (Craig) Horak, Jeanine (Ken) Rathje, Jim (Bridget) Harford, Cathie (Tim) Harford-Medlin, Mike (Susan) Campbell, and Tina (Keith) Arbore; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; two brothers and sister in France; granddaughter, Mechele Horak; and great-grandson, Jaymin Rathje.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Bickford of Marion, Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon, and St. Croix Hospice.
Memorials in Suzanne’s memory may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society. She is finally free of her dementia.
