Brian Young, 63, passed away on February 23, 2024, after a long illness at The University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics.
Brian grew up in Cedar Rapids where he graduated Jefferson High School, class of 1978. Brian worked as a manager in both Iowa and Wisconsin. Brian loved music. He enjoyed both listening to it, as well as composing it. He was a fan of football and basketball. Brian enjoyed watching it and cheering on his favorite teams the Green Bay Packers and the Iowa Hawkeyes unless Iowa was playing Iowa State. He loved his family, friends and several beloved pets over the years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lucinda Young, his brother, Steven Young, a sister, RaMae Young, both maternal and paternal grandparents, and all of his aunts and uncles.
He is survived by a sister, Terri Coleman, brother- in- law, Mike Coleman and nieces, Breanna and Brinley Coleman, whom he loved very much. Brian also leaves behind several cousins.
There will be a private visitation for the family. A memorial service will be held at Marion Christian Church, 1050 McGowan Blvd, Marion, at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024.
Burial was held in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Brian’s name.
