AMES — For the second consecutive season, Iowa State has looked within its program to find a new offensive coordinator.
Former tight ends coach Taylor Mouser has been tabbed to lead the Cyclones’ offense this season, replacing Nate Scheelhaase, who left the program earlier this month to join the Los Angeles Rams’ staff.
ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg first reported the news.
Mouser has been on ISU’s staff since moving in from Toledo alongside head coach Matt Campbell and several others. He served as a graduate assistant until 2021 when he became the Cyclones’ tight ends coach.
He’ll take over an ISU offense that returns all of its leading performers from last season, including quarterback Rocco Becht, who is the Big 12’s reigning offensive freshman of the year. — Rob Gray, correspondent
