NANCY J. LEWIS
North Liberty
Nancy J. Lewis, 56, of North Liberty, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Per Nancy's request, there will be no visitation or services. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, Shaun (Nicole) of Oxford and Aron (Autumn) of North Liberty; a brother, Eric (Julie) Vandewater of North Liberty; a sister, Teddy (Jim) Gertsma of Vermillion, S.D.; and four grandchildren, Lerin, Maya, McKenna and Michael. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Penny Vandewater.
Nancy was born Dec. 18, 1961, in Leon, the daughter of Willis Dale and Ida Jane Foreman Vandewater. She was a correctional officer at Oakdale Medical Classifications Center for over 11 years.
Nancy enjoyed watching old movies, the outdoors and time spent with her beloved family and many friends. She forever will be remembered as a loving and wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
