Of all conservatives, why put Cal Thomas on Insight page?

I truly respect The Gazette and feel they give several conservative columnists and many letter writers frequent space to voice conservative opinions.
But I’m not sure if they keep Cal Thomas front and center as a covert reinforcement of just how out of touch with reality the Christian right really is. Or maybe Cal is a bargain these days to print his stuff.
God knows (no pun intended) I am sorely lacking as a biblical scholar. But his recent column criticizing President Biden and other presidents on their attempts to link isolated biblical quotes with efforts to mostly make politics work better, was a bit silly. In my opinion, it is a great example of the Christian “mystery” of how to rationalize literal interpretation of “God’s word” with the fact all original language and writing was in Aramaic followed by centuries of untold numbers of translations, interpretations, and, frankly, biased editing.
Cal’s immature nit picking of “misquoted” verses from, of course, his personal bible, is a slap in face to the good religious folks out there who support women’s right to health care and humane immigration laws, separation of public and private education, condemn the attacks on LGBT youth — in other words, who walk the real walk of Christianity 101, and ”do unto others.“
