LOREN E. MARTIN
Alburnett
Loren E. Martin, 79, of Alburnett, Iowa, passed away in his home with his wife and family by his side on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018. Per his wishes, no services or visitation will be held.
Loren was born Oct. 28, 1939, the son of Calvin and Mable (Fenlon) Martin. He graduated from Alburnett High School in 1958. He
spent his career working as a
dental technician. In 1992, he opened Cedar Rapids Dental Lab with his wife, Shirley. Loren loved to be around young people, enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, holidays, coaching baseball, Pepsi, and attending family sporting events.
Loren married his wife, Shirley Wright, in 1959 at the Methodist Church in Spickard, Mo., on the way to Lake of the Ozarks. They celebrated their 59th anniversary on June 16, 2018.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Martin of Alburnett; son, Rick (Kim) Martin of Storm Lake; son, David (Audrey) Martin of Alburnett; daughter, Trudee Brendes of Alburnett; and nine grandchildren, Nichole (Jeff), Mitchell, Michael and Megan Martin of Storm Lake, Cory, Cody and Zach Martin, and Chris and Carissa Nutting, all of Alburnett, and Natilee and Lauren Brendes of Marion.
The family would like to send a special thank-you to Lindsay, Meghan and Mckinsey from Above and Beyond Hospice for their help and loving care.
