Kenneth “Ken” T. Keenan, 82, of Cedar Rapids passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Memorial mass will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 10:30 AM, with a visitation beginning at 9:30, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marion.
Kenneth Thomas Keenan was born on August 18, 1941 to Archie and Mary (Farrell) Keenan in Manchester, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Karen Mueller on May 27, 1989 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marion. Ken worked in the purchasing field for many years. He was an avid Hawkeye fan.
Survivors include his wife, Karen; their boys, Chad (Tasha) Mueller and Clint (Grace) Mueller; grandchildren, Reed and Gram; and step-grandchildren, Evan and Paxton; brother-in-law, Dennis Murdock; very special friends Dave Mahlke and Terry Sacora; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold (Norma) and John (Barbara); and sisters, Kathryn (Roger) Fink and Marlene Murdock; and nephew, Patrick.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Ken’s memory can make contributions directly to Upper Iowa University’s Alumni Office, PO Box 1857, Fayette, Iowa 52142, directing the gift to the Ken Keenan Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is being established at Upper Iowa University and will support students majoring in Supply Chain Management.
