CEDAR RAPIDS — College Community Schools has announced the promotion of Andrew Davis to the role of athletics director, effective July 1, pending board approval.
Davis will succeed Rocky Bennett, who will retire at the end of the school year, after serving for 18 years.
“I am excited and honored to have the privilege to work with the incredible students, staff, and stakeholders associated with Prairie activities,” Davis said in a release. “Together, we will work to be student-focused and create positive experiences for our students and supporters of all activities. I will continue to build upon all the great things that are happening here at Prairie.”
A native of Wapello, Davis is in his 24th year with the district and his 25th in education. He currently serves as assistant activities director.
“Not only is Andrew deeply connected and committed to our community, but has consistently demonstrated the leadership, knowledge and skill essential for a lead AD,” College Community superintendent Doug Wheeler said.
“Andrew possesses extensive knowledge of Prairie in both academics and activities, making him the perfect fit for this important position.”
