What to know: Iowa’s Caitlin Clark, the nation’s leading scorer at 32.4 points per game, needs 65 points to catch Kelsey Plum (Washington, 2017) at the top of the NCAA Division-I women’s basketball scoring chart. Plum has 3,527 career points, Clark 3,462.
Clark has scored 30 points or more in six consecutive games and 10 of the last 12.
She is 28 3-pointers away from Kelsey Mitchell’s NCAA career record of 497.
The Hawkeyes are ranked No. 2 for the third time this season. Their first two appearances were brief after losses to Kansas State and Ohio State, respectively.
Iowa’s Kate Martin was named to the 21st class of “So You Want To Be A Coach” program, the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced.

Penn State had won six consecutive games before losing at home against Michigan, 80-75, Saturday. The Lady Lions are on their way to their first winning season since 2016-17.
The Hawkeyes swept Penn State last season and have won the last eight games in the series. However, Penn State leads the all-time series, 31-25.
Six-foot graduate student Ashley Owusu, who previously played at Maryland and Virginia Tech, leads the Lady Lions in scoring at 18.3 points per game. Veteran Makenna Marisa is next at 15.1 ppg, and Penn State averages 86.7 points per contest (second in the Big Ten to Iowa’s 91.9).
