Big’s BBQ and Brew Pub moving to new Mount Vernon location

MOUNT VERNON — A scratch barbecue and brewing staple in Mount Vernon is moving to a new location.

Big’s BBQ and Brew Pub, first opened in 2017, hopes to reopen on Feb. 15 at 106 First St. W. in downtown Mount Vernon. The restaurant closed at its original location, 124 Second Ave. NW, Mount Vernon, on Jan. 28.

Owners Nanette Rambo and her husband, Jimmie Daugherty, purchased the restaurant in 2021.

“The location came up. It’s prime,” Rambo said. “We grew out of the restaurant location we were in. To be on main street with all the other businesses is kind of a win.”

The restaurant plans to add breakfast to the menu with its reopening.
