Make legislators sing the national anthem

My first thought upon reading "Republican lawmakers: Students should sing U.S. anthem" (front page, The Gazette, Jan. 25) was that the proposed bill be amended to require that legislators sing at least one verse of the anthem at the start of each day the legislature is in session. That would set a fine example for the students.
