Julie Ann Ryan, 75, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. The family asks that everyone attending please wear casual attire.
Julie was born on July 24, 1948, in Postville, the daughter of Lynn and Lillian (Russell) Winters. She graduated from Waukon High School, class of 1966. Julie was united in marriage to Raymond “Spike” Ryan on May 13, 1967, in Waukon. She worked at Rockwell Collins and retired from Intermec. Julie enjoyed baking, reading, boating, dancing, but most of all spending time with her family and spoiling the grandchildren.
Julie is survived by her husband Spike; her children Rhonda Ash, Kristine (Todd) Orme, Tracey (Heidi) Ryan, Heather Ryan; her grandchildren Allison and Emily Ash, Lindsey, Trevor and Tyler Orme, Grace Harrelson; her siblings Linda (David) Lucas, Jean (Darrell) Stone, Charles (Iris) Winters, Robert (Pam) Winters, Margie (Ray) Burroughs, Larry (Tammi) Winters; her sister-in-law Rose Ryan; as well as her nieces and nephews.
She preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
