Dennis Charles Bradley, 85, of Cedar Rapids, entered Heaven Wednesday, January 31, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The family will host a celebration of life, Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Salem United Methodist Church (3715 33rd Ave. SW) at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Stacia Fine and Matt German, presiding. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Dennis and his family.
Dennis was born on July 28, 1938. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1956, and went on to serve for two years in the United States Navy. On March 7, 1959, he was united in marriage to Marsha (Baker) Bradley. Following Marsha’s death in 2017, he married Kathy Wickham September 1, 2018. He was employed by Cherry Burrell (Evergreen) his entire career, and worked in the field of Industrial Engineering.
Dennis was a long-time member of Salem United Methodist Church, where he served in many capacities. Dennis had a selfless spirit, great sense of humor, and touched countless lives. He embraced every moment spent with family and friends. Dennis played in several Bridge clubs, golfed, and he was an avid tennis player. In retirement, he competed in national senior tournaments around the country. Dennis was always engrossed in a novel, enjoyed traveling the world, and was an excellent story-teller. His inspirational legacy will live on.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Denise Symonds, Melinda (Mike) Weaverling, Trisha (Tim) Zimmerman, and Christopher Bradley; grandchildren, Casey Symonds, Alex Symonds, Shelby (Zac) Coan, Kristen Weaverling, Bradley Weaverling, Jillian Zimmerman, Kaylin (William) Fink; great-grandchildren, Kirby and Pyatt Coan.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Marguerite Bradley; his wife, Marsha; brothers Don Jr. and John Bradley; and his sister, JoAnn Hekl.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Point Hospice, St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids Iowa.
