Wayne Stanford "Stan" Tull, 71, of Marion, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 23, 2018, at his home. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Faith Bible Church, 1800 46th St. NE, Cedar Rapids, where he was a member. The Rev. Steve Benton will officiate. Cremation will follow services on Wednesday. A private family committal service will take place at a later date at Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Wayne was born Sept. 29, 1946, in Newton, Kan., the son of John and Aline (Rich) Tull. He graduated from Wilson High School in Wilson, Kan., in 1964. Stan then attended Wichita Tech College for two years and was hired by Collins Radio (Rockwell Collins), where he worked for 48 years, retiring in 2014. On May 19, 1985, at Faith Bible Church, he was united in marriage to Diane McClenathan. Stan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Tull of Marion; children, Deliegha (Jeff) Swanson of Marion, Christine (Ryan) Lantz of Marion and Joey (Emily) Akers of Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren, Charissa, Lois and Titus Swanson, Ashley, Jack, Cade and Maggie Lantz and Grace Akers; sister, Saundra (David) Steckline of Florence, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents.
