Eric Donald Lewis,48 of, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Jan. 17, 2024. Eric was born on Jan. 9, 1976, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Eric was a fun-loving individual who made every attempt to enjoy life to the fullest. He had a passion for sports, particularly the NY Jets and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Golf was his main sports passion, whether he was watching or playing. Whether he was cheering on his favorite teams or hitting the golf course with many friends, his cousins, Brandon and Scott Godwin, Eric found great joy in these activities. Eric could talk some good golf smack! All his friends and family enjoyed this.

Eric was a graduate of George Washington High School and later furthered his education at Kirkwood College. Eric worked in the hospitality industry and was always a face in the public. He enjoyed helping others and was quite the people person, adding good humor and charm as well.

Eric is survived by his loving daughters Brianna Lewis, and Kayla Lewis of Tennessee. Also survived by Eric's Aunt Pam Lewis-Parish, sister of his father Jack Lewis. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Jack and Marcia Lewis and brother Todd Lewis.

It is important to know that Eric was always very thoughtful of others first and he put himself last. His strengths of reaching out to be there for others were of his utmost importance. Because of this, Eric was finally able to give back his gifts to others in need. This was and is incredibly special.

In memory of Eric, his family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at the Double Z Bar and Grill, 629 Ellis Blvd NW, Cedar Rapids, on Feb. 17th from 11:30am-2:30pm. Please come and share your memories and toast one for Eric.
