CHRISTOPHER LEE HENECKE
West Hollywood, Calif.
Christopher Lee Henecke, 58, of West Hollywood, Calif., formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Jan. 30, 2018, from a sudden illness. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Survivors include his parents, Shirley and Jim Klemp of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Lynn (husband Jay) Jensen of Cedar Rapids and Susan (husband Herb) Lipsman of Cypress, Texas; brothers, John (wife Wendy) Henecke of Cedar Rapids, Jesse Henecke of Santa Monica, Calif., and Greg (wife Terri) Henecke of Cedar Rapids; stepbrother, Jay Klemp of Rochester, Minn.; nieces and nephews, Kali, Christopher, Travis, Shannon, Adam, Alex, Courtney, Austin, Emily and Hillary; and many great-nieces and
-nephews.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Donald L. Henecke; his partner, Galen McFee; and his stepbrother, Tom Klemp.
Born in Cedar Rapids in 1959, Chris graduated from Regis High School in 1977 where he was active in theater and photography. Later he attended the University of Iowa and UCLA. Chris worked in Los Angeles as an IT professional for an office supply company.
Chris was known by all to have a big and open heart. He cared for all who needed help, including the stray cats in his neighborhood. He will be terribly missed by all who knew him from Iowa to California.
