Herbert “Herb” Wamboldt Jr., 81, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics from a long illness. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mitzi, his son, Herbert Wamboldt III, and wife (Lisa) of Fairfax, VA, his daughter, Jen Johnson, and husband (Josh) of Iowa City, IA, his grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Katie, Brennan, Aly, Gabe, and Harper, and his siblings, Margaret Parkes and Walter “Ed” Wamboldt. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Dolores, Mary Ann, and Harry.
Herb was born on November 17, 1942, in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Herbert and Margaret (Kasovich) Wamboldt Sr. He married Mitzi Weiss on July 6, 1968.
