Peter R. Elliff, a resident of Marion, Iowa, passed away on January 19, 2024, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 7, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Peter was a part of Prairie High School's Class of 1980. On July 22, 1988, he was united in marriage to Pamela Wanerus. Throughout his career, Peter worked in manufacturing and machining management and as a consultant in Enterprise Resource Planning, contributing his skills to Elliff Steel Service, Sadler Machine, and Global Shop Solutions. Notably, he founded and served as the president of Dunes Integrations, LLC, up until his illness.
Peter proudly served his country as a Marine, embodying the values of honor, courage, and commitment.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela (Wanerus) Elliff of Marion; daughter, Jessie (Austin) Steines (children: Knox); daughter, Jennie (Kellen) Johnson (children: Charlotte and Henry); and son, Derek Elliff (6 children and one grandchild). In addition to his immediate family, Peter is survived by his mother, Shirley Elliff; and seven siblings, Rebecca, Julie, John, Michael, James, Jeffrey, and Beth; his father, Gordon; sister Paula; and brothers, Stephen and Eric, preceded him in death.
Peter was a unique and hard-working individual whose creative mindset and distinctive approach to problem-solving led to his success. His innovative perspectives touched every aspect of his life, from professional achievements to diverse passions and hobbies. (Houseboating, vacationing, scuba, astronomy/telescopes/cameras, electronics, computers, engineering, hydroponics, coaching soccer, camping, bowling, 3D printing, metal detecting, archery, drones, etc.). His wide variety of interests always showcased the depth and richness of his life. His curiosity and enthusiasm for these pursuits touched the lives of those around him. Peter's absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will live on in the memories we hold dear.
The family invites friends and acquaintances to join in an open house celebration of Peter's life at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3855 Katz Drive, Marion, Iowa 52302, Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 2 - 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted through the Go Fund Me page established for medical/funeral expenses under the name Peter Elliff.
