Brandon "Tex" Gene McHugh, 35, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away suddenly on January 11th, 2024. His loss is completely unexpected, and his family is profoundly saddened.
Brandon was born on December 26th, 1988, to Ronald Stearns and Kelly McHugh in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was one of seven children. After high school, Brandon stayed close to his family and went on to have two beautiful children of his own.
Brandon is survived by the following: his parents, Ronald Stearns and Kelly McHugh. His children, Wyatt and Eleanor McHugh. His siblings, Ryan (Gina) McHugh, Jacob Stearns, Jessica (Justin) Allen, Sara (Cody) Warson, Racheal (Justin) Lamb and Christian Stearns. Eleven nieces and nephews: Carter, Brooke, Cooper, Cale, Addison, Emma, Connor, Jack, Bryant, Gavin and Sophie. His grandma Millie Stearns and many cousins, aunts, uncles and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Kay and Gary McHugh. His uncle, Michael Pena and cousin, Joey Pena.
Brandon was brilliant, shy, soft-spoken and corky, and had a great sense of humor. His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by his entire family.
There will be a visitation Thursday, January 18th from 5 – 7 pm at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. The Funeral Service is Friday, January 19th at 1 pm at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel followed by the burial service at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
