Dawn Lynn Dennis, 67, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023.
Dawn was born January 25, 1956, in Charleston, South Carolina, the daughter of Daryl and Mary Jane (Antles) Dayton. She graduated from Jefferson High School. Dawn was united in marriage to Mike Dennis on December 3, 1982, in Cedar Rapids. She was kindhearted and a fierce leader who dedicated over 40 years of service to the newspaper industry as a circulation manager at the Cedar Rapids Gazette. Dawn enjoyed going to the casino and loved spending time with her family and friends. Dawn always watched out for others' needs before her own and was dedicated to keeping the memory of her Mother and Grandmother alive. She will be forever missed.
Private family services were held at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service with burial at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Private Family Burial took place at Linwood Cemetery.
Dawn is survived by her husband, Mike Dennis; children, Chris (Tim) Wendt, Jeff Dennis, and Andrea (Brad) Langel; grandchildren Rachel, Jacob, Tren, Landen, Riley, and Ally; and brother, Michael Creger family of San Diego (Emily and Elliot). She was preceded in death by her father and mother Mary Jane Creger, sister Sharon Shaffer, grandmother Julia Antles, and son, Stephen.
