Ronald C. Bark, 93, of Solon, passed away on Dec. 30, 2023 at the Solon Nursing Care Center. Graveside Committal Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Solon is serving the family.
Ronald was born June 26,1930 in Clarence, Iowa, the son of William J. Bark and Marie (Griem) Bark. Ron graduated from the University of Iowa and went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War. After returning home, Ron worked as an accountant at the company now known as Alliant Energy. Ron married the love of his life, Josephine (Jo) Verderber in 1967. In 1991 Ron retired from Alliant Energy. Ron and Jo loved to travel, go out to eat, and go to the movies. Jo passed away on Feb. 20, 2020, after 52 years of marriage.
Ron is survived by a sister-in-law Jeanne Bark, nephews William (Laurie) Bark and Jonathon (Collen) Bark, nieces Lynette (Gary) Kerslake, Patricia Bark, Susan (Bob) Wallet, Cathy (Dan) Johnson and Sandy (Todd) Boyer.
He is preceded in death by his wife Josephine, his parents, and brothers Earl and Fred.
Memorials can be made to the Immaculate Conception Church.
