Sister Sharon Kelchen, PBVM, 72, of Dubuque and formerly of Farley, died Thursday, July 19, 2018.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 23, at Sacred Heart Chapel, Sisters of the Presentation, Dubuque. Cremains were buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa, following the services.
Sister Sharon is survived by her brothers, Joe (Susan) Kelchen and James (Mary) Kelchen; sisters, Dorie Kelchen, Kay (Paul) Ostwinkle, Karen (Ken) Tobin, Jean (Dennis) Loesche and Chris (Dean) Klosterman; nieces and nephews; and the Sisters of the Presentation, with whom she shared her life for 54 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Florence (Hosch) Kelchen; brother, Larry Kelchen; and brother-in-law, Paul Pheles.
Sister Sharon entered the Sisters of the Presentation in September 1964 and professed her perpetual vows on Aug. 23, 1970.
Her latest ministry was minister of care in St. Elizabeth Pastorate, Farley, Iowa. She enjoyed golfing, reading, playing cards and baking.
